An experimental animation exploring how to visualize Blockchain operations for financial services clients.
To create various animation concepts for a Blockchain HUD style dashboard that could be used to demonstrate Blockchain functionality to potential clients in a visual way as a sales tool.
Using Illustrator & After Effects, I created a HUD animation concept to present to the project sponsor to validate some ideas around the concept and establish future design direction.
While working on OpenCSD at SETL, we identified a need to better communicate how Blockchain technology works to potential financial services clients. Many stakeholders struggled to understand the abstract concept of distributed ledger technology, which created barriers during sales conversations.
How might we visualize complex Blockchain operations — like transaction validation, node consensus, and block creation — in a way that feels both technically credible and visually engaging for non-technical financial services executives?
I explored multiple HUD interface directions through sketches, testing different visual approaches for representing blockchain operations like transaction validation, node consensus, and network activity.

Sketch Concept #1
I refined the strongest sketch direction into a detailed dashboard layout, establishing the visual hierarchy and design language needed to clearly communicate Blockchain activity to financial stakeholders.

Sketch Concept #2
The final concept animation demonstrated several transaction lifecycles, from submission through validation to block confirmation to make distributed ledger technology visually engaging for sales presentations.
While this specific concept wasn't implemented, the exploration informed how we approached blockchain visualization in OpenCSD.
Animation #1: Block Status
